Turn left at Gretna Green and head into beautiful South-West Scotland.

Dumfries is a historic town. Here the Red Comyn was murdered in the fight for the crown of Scotland. Scotland's famous bard Robert Burns lived for some time in Dumfries. The author of Peter Pan, James Barrie attended Dumfries Academy.

The Old Bank Restuarant, in the town centre was as its name suggests built as The Commercial Union Bank in 1830. As a restaurant we inherited some of the wonderful architectural design of that time, which gives an elegance to the dining area. The revolving door at the entrance was a later addition in the 1960's and this adds to the sense of style of The Old Bank Restaurant and Coffee House.

Another interesting feature is the bank safe, 27 tonnes of steel and concrete, now decorated and laid out for customer use. An interesting place to have lunch or coffee and one of our hand-made scones.

We pride ourselves on our hand-made food and prepare a varied selection on a daily basis. We are open Monday to Wednesday, 10am until 4.30pm and Thursday,Friday & Saturday from 10am until 11pm.

Breakfast, Morning Coffee and lunch or meals are available all day. From 4.30pm until 6.30 / 7pmThursday, Friday & Saturday we offer High Tea, Wine & Dine and Pasta Supper Menus. Evening dinner is then available until 9.30pm and we close at 11pm. We have a full table licence.
